Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 15, 2026
UPrep Advising operates UPrep ("UPrep," "we," "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect and how we use it.
1. What we collect
When you or your parent or guardian books a service, we collect what's needed to deliver it: name, email, phone number, grade or school (optional), and any documents you choose to share for a session, like an essay or resume draft. If you pay for a service, our payment provider handles your payment details, we don't store your full card number.
2. Who provides it
For clients under 18, a parent or guardian usually provides booking and payment information. The student provides session content directly, like the material they want feedback on.
3. Why we collect it
We use your information only to schedule and deliver sessions, send confirmations and receipts, and follow up on a booking. We don't use it for anything beyond running UPrep.
4. How we use it
Your information is used by the person delivering your session, to prepare for and run it, and to communicate with you about your booking. We may look at anonymized, aggregated patterns across sessions to improve how UPrep works, never in a way that identifies you.
5. What we don't do
We don't sell your personal information. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't publish a testimonial, story or identifying detail about you without asking first, see the Terms of Service for how that consent works.
6. Third party tools
We use third party tools to run UPrep, for scheduling, payment and video calls. Each provider has its own privacy policy for how they handle your information. We'll link to them here once they're selected.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as needed to deliver the service and meet basic recordkeeping requirements, then delete it. As a starting point, that's 12 months after your last session with us, unless we're required to keep something longer.
(This retention period is a suggested default, not yet confirmed.)
8. Minors' information
Most UPrep clients are under 18. A parent or guardian consents to the collection of booking information on the student's behalf. Session content shared by the student is used only to deliver that student's feedback, and isn't shared beyond the person delivering the session.
9. Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by reaching out through the Contact page.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version posted here, with its last updated date, is the one that applies.
